01Grand Theft Auto 4 Path Tracing RTX Remix Update 1.7.2 Released & Detailed - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

GTA4-RTX-Remix-New-Screenshot.jpg

Modder ‘xoxor4d’ has released Updates 1.7.1 and 1.7.2 for his amazing RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod for Grand Theft Auto 4. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.

Update 1.7.1 brings the biggest change. The game is now rendered through the RTX Remix API. Before this update, Remix had to catch every draw call from GTA 4 and rebuild the scene. This put a lot of work on the CPU, which hurt performance in busy parts of the city. It also limited how far players could see.

The new system takes the game’s own 3D data and sends it straight to the Remix runtime. This skips most of the old Direct3D 9 path. It allows for much longer draw distances and better use of the GPU. The game still uses full path tracing. The new system also handles cars, people, objects, and the world in a better way. It keeps car damage, dirt, paint, and flat tires. It also keeps the game’s own mesh and material mods working.

The update also brings a full water overhaul. Waves now cover a much larger area around the player. The game also adds new waves in the distance. These waves follow the same wind and motion as the water near the player. A new shore system makes water fade out as it gets shallow or meets land. This removes the hard, bright lines that once appeared along coasts. Players can also pick from four water presets: Performance, Standard, Quality, and Insane.

Rain and wet surfaces have also seen a major upgrade. The new wetness system creates puddles in low spots, road dips, and potholes. Puddles grow as rain falls and dry from the edges once the rain stops. They also react to wind and raindrops. Roads and other surfaces stay wet for longer, then slowly dry out. Rain no longer falls through roofs and bridges. The system also handles wet cars better. Best of all, this new wetness system uses less GPU power than the old one.

Rain itself has also changed. The old rain effects are off by default. The Remix runtime now handles rain particles, which look better and no longer show up inside buildings. The new system also adds rain shadows under roofs and bridges.

The sky, fog, and weather have also been improved. The new atmosphere system lets aerial perspective and volumetric fog work together. This helps create better sunrises and sunsets, with more natural haze and sun rays. Players can also edit weather presets through separate config files. The update fixes many small issues with fog, rain, stars, and the moon. Lightning no longer leaves a long trail in the fog, and raindrops now react to sky light in the right way.

Night scenes also look better. Distant street lights now work as they should. Fake distant cars, which once stretched across the screen, have also been fixed. These changes help make the city feel more alive at night. Blood can now appear on people, too.

Update 1.7.1 also adds HDR support. This works with both the Alt HDR10 tonemapper and the default Psycho17 tonemapper. The update also adds the latest official DLSS 5 model and improves auto exposure. Car headlights should look better, and very distant trees now have more detail.

There are many other changes under the hood. The runtime now uses the GPU to handle mesh skinning. It also improves how it loads and replaces textures. New settings let players turn parts of the Remix API on or off. These include world objects, people, cars, and water. The menu has also been split into clear tabs for easier use.

The update fixes several crashes and freezes. It fixes crashes when players switch to another window or minimize the game at the wrong time. It also fixes crashes tied to people and other animated objects. The HUD and menus now keep the right size after a change in screen resolution. Explosion colors have also been fixed by removing old baked lighting from some effects.

There are also changes to the installer and AutoPBR. AutoPBR changes many game materials to make them look more like real-world surfaces. The new optional RTXIO version is much faster to load. It can cut load times to just a few seconds and also reduce stutters. The installer guides players through the setup. It also gives clearer error messages and uses Git to speed up future updates.

Update 1.7.2 builds on these changes with more performance tweaks. It updates the weather settings to reduce cloud depth and other costly effects. This helps improve performance, especially when the GPU is the main limit. The timecycle system also now writes weather values only when they change. This avoids needless work while the game runs.

The RTX Remix menu has also gained new DLSS Neural Rendering and HDR settings. The SetGameValue function no longer waits for a reply from the server, which helps avoid delays. Graphics presets now use SHARC below the Ultra setting and turn on sparse rendering. The Auto preset now stops at High. Particle light settings have also been tuned for each preset.

The update also changes the main RTX config file. It removes fixed graphics settings so Remix can pick a preset that fits each PC. More settings have been tuned for better GPU performance. These changes include turning off Homogeneous Volumetrics and adjusting cloud, level-of-detail, sampling, and distant haze settings.

Finally, the installer has been updated. It has clearer text and now picks the right RTXIO file based on the user’s Windows version. This makes setup easier and helps avoid issues with the wrong file.

You can go ahead and download the latest version of the RTX Remix Mod for GTA 4 from here.

02Phantom Blade Zero Ultra+ Mod Brings HD Textures & Ray Tracing/Path Tracing Improvements - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Phantom-Blade-Zero-DLSS-5-feature-scaled.jpg

It appears that a must-have mod for Phantom Blade Zero has just been released. This mod is no other than Ultra+, which aims to fix many of the game’s visual issues. It brings several key upgrades to ray tracing and path tracing. These changes help reduce noise, flickering, and other visual flaws. Not only that, but it comes with a new HD Texture Pack. So, let’s dive in.

One of its main features is a longer draw distance for trees and shadows. With ExtendedDrawDistance, trees and their shadows stay dynamic much farther away. This helps reduce the number of static objects in the distance. The mod also lets more objects show up in ray tracing and path tracing. This can make the world look more full and real.

Ultra+ also aims to reduce the noise and flickering seen with path tracing. It does this with two settings: PT_EnableSharc and PTIndirectDownsample. The first can help reduce the boiling effect, which is most clear on things like leaves and plants. The second lets path-traced light run at full screen size instead of just one-quarter of it. This can improve the image, but it uses much more PC power.

The mod also improves shadows. With FoliageShadows turned on, many small plants and objects can cast shadows. This includes grass, shrubs, bamboo, ivy, leaves, moss, and small stones. Even branches and water plants can cast shadows. This helps add more depth to the world.

Another key feature is ray-traced ambient occlusion. This adds more depth to areas where objects meet or sit close to each other. Players can pick between the standard ray-traced AO mode and a denoised version. They can also tune its strength and range. The mod also lets players turn off the game’s screen-space contact shadows.

Ultra+ has another useful PC feature called GameCVarProfiles. The game often changes its own graphics settings while you play. This can undo some of the mod’s fixes. Ultra+ stops this from happening to the settings it controls, so its changes stay in place. This can also help reduce stutters. The default Pinned mode keeps the mod’s own settings in place while letting the game change other settings. Frozen mode stops the game from changing any CVars.

The mod also offers some extra options for PC users. Players who use the game’s own ray reconstruction can skip the denoiser and upscaler settings in Ultra+. There is also a custom ray reconstruction preset with a responsivity bias, which is shared through the Ultra+ Discord. You can press ALT + F2 to switch between the modded game and the standard version. This comparison mode does not show the changes to foliage shadows.

As I said, there is also an optional HDNatureTextures add-on. It is a large download, at about 2.9GB, and takes up around 6.6GB once installed. It needs the main Ultra+ mod, which raises the game’s texture size limits so the new 4K textures can work.

HDNatureTextures replaces 518 rock, cliff, stone, ground, tree trunk, branch, and cave textures with sharper 4K versions. Many of the original textures are smaller than their source images. The add-on also improves the game’s tiled rock detail. It adds terrain blending to 201 rock, cliff, stone, and rocky ground materials. It also includes 4K versions of the game’s rock detail normal maps. These changes add finer detail and help rocks stay sharp when viewed up close.

You can go ahead and download the mod from its official website.

Have fun!

Kudos to our reader “Psycho” for bringing this to our attention!

03Nintendo Switch 2 Emulator Eglantine Runs Mario Kart World at 60 FPS on PC - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Mario-Kart-World-feature-2.jpg

A few days ago, we informed you about Eglantine, the first Nintendo Switch 2 emulator for PC. Back then, it could run Mario Kart World, but the game had poor performance and many visual glitches. Now, just a few days later, things have changed. Eglantine can run Mario Kart World at 60 FPS on PC.

YouTube’s ‘Unreal Gaming PC’ has shared a video that showcases 12 minutes of gameplay footage from it. To capture this footage, the YouTuber used an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and 64GB of RAM.

As we can see, Mario Kart World runs at 60 FPS on that PC system. There are a few stutters here and there, but other than those, we get 60 FPS across numerous stages.

This is such an impressive result. A few days ago, there wasn’t any Nintendo Switch 2 emulator. Now, not only do we have one, but it also runs a triple-A game like Mario Kart World at 60 FPS.

I’ve seen some people call Eglantine an “AI slop emulator” that is just based on Eden. But you know what? I don’t care. What matters is the result. Before Eglantine, there was no Nintendo Switch 2 emulator for PC. So, instead of complaining, why didn’t those people make one? I’ll give you a hint: because it was too hard.

My guess is that we will also see some unofficial PC ports of the Nintendo Switch 2 games soon. A lot of the PC recomps are based on the workd that was done in emulators. Take, for instance, the unofficial PC ports of almost all PS4 games. These were made possible thanks to shadPS4. So, in a few months, we might see unofficial PC versions of Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

You can go ahead and download Eglantine from this link. This is the version that the YouTuber used to capture the following gameplay video (it is build-135 6221409).

Stay tuned for more!

04Super Mario Odyssey Unofficial PC Port Available for Download - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Super-Mario-Odyssey-feature.jpg

Super Mario fans, the time has come. An unofficial native PC port of Super Mario Odyssey has just been released, and you can download it right now. With this unofficial PC port, you will be able to run and play Super Mario Odyssey natively on your PC.

The PC port is fully playable from start to finish. You can explore every kingdom, fight every boss, play the 2D and 8-bit sections, and reach the ending and post-game content. The project has been tested at 60 FPS on a modern desktop PC. Linux users can also play the full game, but the macOS build may still have some issues.

The port adds several PC graphics options. You can play at your screen’s native resolution or raise the internal resolution up to 4x. At 1080p, 2x resolution gives you a 4K image. This makes the game look much sharper than it does on the Switch. If your PC is not powerful enough, you can lower the render scale to 25% and use AMD FSR 1 to help keep the game running well.

Power Moon Recomp also has a built-in menu. Press F1 or Esc to open it, or use the Home or Guide button on a controller. From there, you can change video and audio settings, set up your controls, pick a language, and manage mods. The game also supports full-screen play, which you can switch on with F11 or Alt+Enter.

You are not locked to a gamepad, either. The port supports keyboard and mouse controls, and you can change the key bindings. It also supports controllers, including the right stick for camera control. This gives PC players more ways to play the game.

Another big feature is mod support. You can add mods that change or add costumes, models, textures, music, text, and even levels. The game has a Mods tab where you can turn each mod on or off. You do not need to change the game’s own files. If two mods change the same file, the one higher in the list takes priority. Mods made for game version 1.0.0 work best. Code mods are not supported.

The port also keeps your saves, settings, and shader cache in its own files. Once the game has built its shader cache, later visits to the same areas should load more quickly. Some shaders may still cause a brief pause the first time they appear, but this should happen less often as you play.

Getting started is simple, but you need your own copy of Super Mario Odyssey. The port only supports the original 1.0.0 version of the game, without updates. On the first run, you select your dumped game files. The setup then checks them, copies the files it needs, and builds the PC version. This only needs to be done once. After that, the game starts straight away.

You can go ahead and download this unofficial PC port from here.

In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Strikers.

But what about non-Super Mario games? Well, right now, you can download the unofficial PC ports of Crash Team Racing, Forza Horizon 2, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, Call of Duty 3, and Jak & Daxter.

These past couple of months, I also shared the unofficial PC versions of The Simpsons Game, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, Gears of War 3, and Bloodborne. Let’s also not forget the PC ports of Virtua Fighter Arcade, Splinter Cell: Double Agent,  Tekken 6, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Bayonetta 2, Metroid Dread, and Metroid Prime.

For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. We also got a PC port of F-Zero. Brian Tate has also brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. Plus, we got a PC port of Mother 2/EarthBound.

Arcade fans can download unofficial PC versions of some cool games. For instance, you can play SCUD RACE, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Time Crisis, Rave Racer, Time Crisis 2, and Virtua Fighter 2.

It’s also worth noting that all the Gears of War games from the Xbox 360 era have been ported to PC. We’ve also gotten an unofficial PC port of the first God of War game. Nintendo fans can also play unofficial PC versions of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.

For our PS4 fans, we have unofficial PC ports of Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus, MediEvil, Killzone Shadow Fall, and Driveclub. You can also download the unofficial PC versions of God of War 3 Remastered, Gran Turismo Sport, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, The Order: 1886, and The Last Guardian.

In September 2026, we shared a lot of unofficial PC ports. So, you can download and enjoy on PC Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link,  WET, The Darkness, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Mercenaries, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Fable 2, Burnout Revenge, and Lost Odyssey.

And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Silent Hill. In July 2026, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. Then, in August 2026, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin.  Finally, you can download the PC ports of Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Paper Mario, and Tekken 3.

Star-Wars-Dark-Forces-2-Unreal-Engine-Remake.jpg

In November 2025, Ruppertle released a beta version of his fan remake of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. The remake was built in Unreal Engine. Now, one year later, the artist has moved the project to Unreal Engine 5 and made it free for everyone to try. Anyone can now download it and give it a go.

Version 1.03 of the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 Unreal Engine 5 Fan Remake comes with four levels from the original game. It also adds five Survival levels, a Sandbox mode, and a 3D Model Viewer. There is also a bonus test level and many hidden secrets for players to find.

You can go ahead and download this new version of the Dark Forces 2 Fan Remake from this link. You can also watch a new trailer at the end of this article. It compares the original game with the fan remake. This will give you a good look at the remake’s improved graphics.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, I recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. For Mario fans, we have this cool Super Mario Galaxy Tech Demo in Unreal Engine 5.

And that’s not all. There is a cool remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 that you can download. Or how about this free Attack on Titan game? Then we have the fan remakes for Dino Crisis 2, Super Mario Galaxy, and MediEvil 2. Plus, there is an amazing fan remake of Sonic Adventure 2, called Sonic Adventure 2 Redux. Oh, and let’s not forget the amazing ports of Skyrim and Oblivion.

Our Zelda fans should download the final version of CryZENx’s fan remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. You can also play an experimental demo of a fan remake of Rockstar’s Bully in UE5.

Owners of high-end GPUs can also try these three tech demos. The first one features a Witcher-like environment. The second shows off a Rome Italian Town.  The third is the Venice Tech Demo we shared a few days ago. We also have a demo of King’s Field 2 in UE5, as well as a remake of Konami’s canceled PT. Finally, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, a demo for Need for Speed: Underground 2, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

06Tekken 8 Fallen Destiny Mod Aims to Make the Game Look and Feel Like Its 2022 Trailer - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Tekken-8-feature.jpg

When Bandai Namco showed the first in-engine trailer for Tekken 8 in 2022, many fans got excited. I was one of them. Even today, that trailer looks amazing. Sadly, the final game was severely downgraded. But there is some good news. A modder is working on a mod that aims to make Tekken 8 look and feel more like it did in that 2022 trailer.

For those who did not know, Tekken 8 does not support Lumen or Virtual Shadow Maps. However, there was a mod that could enable Lumen. But that was an experimental mod, and a lot of stages looked really bad with it.

We then got a mod that enabled some hidden graphical features, like GTAO, Full Screen SSR, and Shadow Denoiser. With this mod, the game can look crisper and a bit more detailed. However, it could not come close to that 2022 trailer.

NVIDIA users can use DLSS 5 to make the game look like that 2022 trailer. But this is only possible if you own an NVIDIA RTX GPU. AMD owners cannot experience this kind of graphics. Until now.

The Fallen Destiny Mod will change the graphics and the camera so that it can make the game look and feel like its 2022 trailer. It also removes some effects that annoyed a lot of players.

The mod is now in Early Access. For now, only Patreon members of ‘The 9001 Club’ can download it. But the first public release is very close. In just 15 days, everyone will be able to download and use it.

Below, you can watch two trailers. The first one compares the mod with the game’s standard PC Ultra settings. This will give you a good idea of what the mod aims to do. The second trailer shows the latest Early Access version.

As a big Tekken 8 fan, I cannot wait to try this mod. However, I do not recommend using it in Ranked Mode. You may be able to use it in all online modes, but you could get flagged or banned. It may also make ranked matches harder to play. So, I suggest using it only in Offline Mode or Quick Matches.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

07Conker: Live & Reloaded Comes to PC with Online Play & Graphical Enhancements - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Conker-Live-Reloaded-PC-feature.jpg

An unofficial PC port of Conker: Live & Reloaded has just been released. Conker: Live & Reloaded came out on the original Xbox in 2005. And now, over two decades later, PC gamers can enjoy it on their PC systems.

The project comes with a launcher that handles the setup. On the first run, players select their own US Xbox disc image. The launcher checks the disc, extracts the game, and builds the PC version. The process takes a few minutes and works offline. The launcher also holds all game settings, so players can change graphics, sound, controls, mods, and online options in one place.

The PC port adds many graphics options. It supports widescreen screens at any size, including 16:9, 21:9, and 32:9. The image is not stretched, and wider screens show more of the game world. Players can use any screen size and choose full-screen, borderless, or windowed mode. They can also change the internal render scale from 25% to 400%.

The game can run at 30, 60, 120, 180, or 240 FPS. It also supports V-Sync. There is an option to keep the game logic at its original 30 FPS while drawing extra frames at 60 or 120 FPS. This helps avoid bugs that can happen when the game logic runs faster than it was made to. Other graphics options include up to 8x MSAA, SMAA, up to 16x anisotropic filtering, ambient occlusion, film grain, and chromatic aberration.

The project also adds visual upgrades that are not part of the original Xbox game. Characters and objects can use per-pixel lighting. Fur has softer shading, and full fur detail stays visible at a distance. Characters and grass also keep their full detail at all distances. Distant grass can move in the wind, while water reacts to nearby movement with ripples. The port also fixes the blur seen on reflective floors and adds rope physics.

Cutscenes receive these upgrades, too. They play at the selected screen size and frame rate, with per-pixel lighting and improved fur shading. Players can also skip any cutscene by pressing LT, even if they have not watched it before.

The port offers wide control support. Players can use Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controllers, with rumble and adjustable vibration strength. Keyboard and mouse controls are also supported, including mouse camera control. Every key can be changed in the launcher. Local split-screen supports up to four players on one PC, and each player can use a different device.

Online play is another major PC feature. The original Xbox System Link mode was made for local networks, but this version lets players connect over the internet. A host can create a room and share a six-word code with friends. Players enter the code to join without typing an IP address. Friends on the same network can also find games without a code. The system uses direct peer-to-peer connections, with no game server in between.

The launcher also adds a few useful extras. An optional decensor mod can be downloaded and installed from the launcher. It is off by default, and the launcher checks the file before applying it. The game also avoids the old Xbox Live sign-in screen, which could cause the game to hang. Logs can be shared to help find bugs, and they do not include IP addresses.

Those interested can download this PC port from this link.

08Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Introduces New Ways to Interact With NPCs - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Cyberpunk-2077-new-feature.jpg

Modder ‘Adriansito’ has released a new mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that introduces new ways to interact with NPCs. This mod will improve the game’s immersiveness. So,  let’s take a closer look at it.

Immersive NPCs adds new ways to interact with people around you. You can talk to them, flirt with them, provoke them, or even challenge them to a fistfight.

The best part is that these actions use the game’s own interaction system. You do not need to open a new menu or use a separate screen. Instead, you get new choices through the normal interaction prompt. The controls also show the right keys or buttons for your device.

The Talk option lets V greet people on the street. They will reply with their own voice lines. This does not change how they feel about you or start a fight. People who are walking will also keep moving as they talk.

You can also flirt with NPCs. This is a two-step action, and it can turn the person into your follower. If you flirt with an enemy’s ally, they can even fight by your side. However, you cannot flirt with police officers.

If you want to start trouble, you can use the Provoke option. This first gives the NPC a warning. What happens next depends on who you target. People in crowds may give up or run away. But enemies and police will fight back and start a real battle.

Thankfully, you can also use the Calm option to stop a fight. This returns an NPC you have provoked to their normal state. So, you can start trouble and then put an end to it.

Another fun feature is the Challenge option. It lets you take part in a non-lethal boxing match with an NPC. You can even challenge your allies to a fight. This gives you another way to test your skills without killing anyone.

When you are done with a follower, you can use the Goodbye option. This sends them away and puts them back in their old group. The mod also keeps some people out of these new actions. You cannot use them on shop owners, key story characters, children, or people who are dead or knocked out.

It’s worth noting that you can change some of the controls in the Mod Settings menu. You can also turn the Provoke animation on or off. The mod supports both keyboard and controller input.

Those interested can download the mod from this link.

Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, here are some other great mods for it. For starters, you can download the Enhanced Photo Mode Unlocker. There’s also a mod that allows cars to fly, as well as other mods that can open up new areas to explore. Then we have this mod that adds a cool Grand Theft Auto-inspired Taxi Driver Mode. Oh, and don’t forget these mods that allow you to play as Ciri from The Witcher 3. Plus, there is a cool Urban Survival Immersion Μod, as well as a Story-Driven Rent System Mod and a Fully Functional Fuel System Mod. Not only that, but you can download this unofficial DLC Mod that adds over 50 new locations.

If you don’t want to pay for a graphical mod, you can improve the game’s graphics with the following free mods. For instance, you can use the Ultra+ Mod. Not only does it improve the quality of Path Tracing, but it also improves performance. Its creator has claimed that it can speed up PT performance by 30-40%. If you don’t want to use it, you can try some other Path Tracing/Ray Tracing Mods. For instance, this mod disables all the fake lights when using PT/RT. And then we have this mod that can improve the path-traced reflections.

Another amazing mod is the one inspired by Titanfall. The mod adds BT from Titanfall to fight by your side. BT comes with its own model, animations, HUD, voice lines, and sound effects. And yes, you can ride the mech and cause chaos in the streets of Night City.

There are also some free HD Texture Packs to use. For example, you can use Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked or this other HD Texture Pack that improves all trees. There’s also another pack that improves the textures of almost all buildings, terrain, and environments. However, these packs don’t work together. Therefore, you’ll have to use only one of them.

Additionally, there’s a mod that adds realistic ragdoll physics to finishing moves. Plus, Law Enforcement Overhaul is a mod that enhances the game’s Police System. And there’s even a mod that integrates the OpenAI API, enabling ChatGPT support. Moreover, this mod will overhaul the main story. Don’t sleep on them, as they can greatly enhance your gaming experience. We also have a cool mod that allows you to play in third-person. And finally, this mod restores 100 NPCs that were cut from the game.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

09The Witcher 3 Remastered Mod Adds True Volumetric Lighting - DSOGaming

Modder ‘EgrLapko’ has released a new cool mod for The Witcher 3 Remastered that adds true volumetric lighting to the game. This mod can greatly improve the game’s image quality, even when using Ray Tracing or Path Tracing. So, let’s take a closer look at it.

This mod uses the game’s own shadows to make light shine through the fog. You can see sunbeams pass through arches, bridges, trees, and city streets. Areas in the shade also look darker, just as they would in real life.

Best of all, these are real light shafts, not just a screen filter. They follow the shadows in the game. This means they line up with trees, towers, fences, and other objects. The mod also keeps the image clear. Instead of adding too much glare, it darkens the fog in shaded areas. This helps keep the game’s look and contrast.

The mod also works on its own. It reads the weather and time of day as you play. You get light haze at noon, warm sunbeams at sunset, and soft moonlight at night. The effect is also very weak when it rains. You do not need to change any settings.

It also works with other fog mods, such as Fog Remastered. If another mod changes the game’s fog, the light will follow those changes. As I said, it’s also compatible with the game’s own Ray Tracing and Path Tracing. Moreover, it works with DLSS and Frame Generation.

Fires and lights also get their own effects. Torches, campfires, and lanterns light up the fog around them. They even keep their own warm colors. The mod also balances their light. This means large fires will not blind you, while small lights will still be easy to see. Even the torch in Geralt’s hand works.

Another nice touch is how the mod blends with the game. It adds its effects before the game’s own bloom and tone mapping. This helps the new light look like part of the game’s world.

Best of all, the mod has a very small cost to speed. It takes about half a millisecond per frame with its default settings. So, you can enjoy better fog and light without a big hit to performance.

You can go ahead and download the mod from here.

A lot of modders are currently bringing their mods to the remastered version. However, if you are still playing the Next-Gen version, you can try some of the following mods.

For instance, there is a really cool first-person mod. The Characters Reworked Project is another interesting mod that improves the quality of over 100 characters. Let’s also not forget this mod that lets you kill most in-game NPCs. Then we have this mod that overhauls the game’s combat with better animations, better targeting, and new dodging mechanics.

In July 2024, we shared mods that restored the boat races and added 15 new quests. A modder has also restored the reputation system that CDPR cut from the game. Plus, there is a cool fan expansion, based on the original book “The Last Wish”. Then, in February 2026, a modder shared a DLC-sized expansion mod that added a new questline for Ciri and a new region to explore. Another DLC-sized fan expansion is Dawn Over Kovir. TW3 fans should also try the demo for The WAR Project. The WAR Project is a massive cut content recreation project aimed at realising the vision for a long-forgotten questline, commonly known as the Plague Questline.

In December 2023, we shared this mod that restores content that was cut from all previous The Witcher games. Then, in February 2024, we shared a mod that attempted to remove the fake “hero” light from the game’s cut-scenes. There is also this mod that allows you to explore a part of the world from the first The Witcher game in TW3. Oh, and don’t forget this mod that allows you to ride a Griffin. Or how about this Sekiro-inspired combat mod?

Another must-have mod is The Witcher 3 Online. With this mod, players can join servers and play together with friends. You can customize your character with Custom Player Characters and relax in taverns using the Chill Out feature. You can also chat with other players, use emotes, and roleplay with strangers. Best of all, you can experience the full story of Geralt and Ciri from beginning to end, all while exploring the world of The Witcher with other players.

The mods that are 100% compatible with The Witcher 3 Remastered are the following ones. Witcher 3 Quests Extended adds 18 new playable quests to the game. Witcher’s Work – Procedurally Generated Contracts adds new procedurally generated contracts to the game. We also have this mod that makes movement and combat more responsive. Finally, this mod fixes nearly 6,000 bugs. It includes more than 2,200 bug fixes and over 2,000 placement fixes. It also restores cut content, as well as around 120 NPCs and characters.

Have fun!

Kudos to our reader ‘Psycho’ for bringing this to our attention!

10Super Smash Bros. Brawl Unofficial PC Port Released - DSOGaming
Read on dsogaming.com

Super-Smash-Bros.-Brawl-feature.jpg

And here comes another one. An unofficial PC port of Super Smash Bros. Brawl is now in development. The project aims to bring Nintendo’s classic fighting game to the PC as a native app.

PC players can boot the game, load saves, and use all menus tested so far. VS battles also work. The port can run the game’s attract demos and start Classic Mode. The opening of The Subspace Emissary is also playable, including its cutscenes and first battle.

The PC port also supports popular mods. Project+ and Project+Ex can load from a virtual SD card. You can play matches with their own characters and stages. REX, Brawl Minus, and Legacy XP also load in the same way. This gives players more ways to enjoy the game.

One of the best features is its graphics support. You can raise the render size up to 8 times the normal value. The game also supports 16:9 screens and can fill windows on ultrawide displays up to 32:9. This gives you more space to see the stage on the sides. The menus and HUD also keep the right shape.

The port uses 120 FPS frame interpolation by default. You can also try 180 and 240 FPS. Keep in mind that the game itself still runs at 60 FPS. The higher frame rates come from frame interpolation.

You also get a menu right inside the game. You can open it with F10 or the Home key on a controller. It has options for graphics, sound, controls, and gameplay. You can also manage cheats, mods, online play, and updates. There is no need to use a separate launcher. The game starts right away.

The port also adds useful tools to make play easier. You can save and load save states with three slots. You can also speed up the game by 2x to 4x. Menus can also run faster. For those who want to change how the game plays, there is support for Gecko codes. You can turn these cheats on or off while playing. Nine tested codes are included.

The controls are also very flexible. Any gamepad is seen as a GameCube controller. You can change its button layout in the game. You can also use a keyboard and mouse for any player. Real Wii Remotes work over Bluetooth, too.

To install the port, you need your own copy of the game. It accepts ISO, CISO, and WBFS files, as well as game folders that have already been unpacked. The port can also update itself. Your saves are kept in a folder called UserData\NAND. This uses a file layout that is like the one found on a real Wii.

Another key feature is its virtual SD card. It is stored in UserData\SD and lets the game use its own SD card features. It also makes it easy to load mods that need an SD card. The port even supports online play with other players who use Brawl Recompiled.

You can go ahead and download it from here.

In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Strikers.

You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, Call of Duty 3, and Jak & Daxter.

You can also download the unofficial PC versions of God of War 3 Remastered, Gran Turismo Sport, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, The Order: 1886, and The Last Guardian.
